The port is one of the most sheltered natural deep water ports in Scotland and has an established track record of involvement with the energy industry. In recent years a number of wind farm components have been shipped through the port to developments in the Highlands.
The modern facilities and extensive laydown areas, make the port an attractive it an attractive option. In addition, the newly created port entrance allows for the egress of loads of up to 57m in length and access to the A9 in both a north and south direction is relatively straight forward via the Longman Roundabout. The port also has a heavy lift pad capable of supporting lifts of 200 tonnes, or more, making it an ideal location for one off project cargoes.
Close proximity to the city centre and all major forms of transport also makes the port a logical choice for vessel turnaround and crew changeover. Inverness railway station is less than 10 minutes from the port and the airport lies within 10 miles.
There is also significant scope to extend the port thereby allowing the creation of bespoke facilities for companies connected to the energy sector.
